Flavio Briatore Sounds the Alarm for Alpine: “Increasingly Alarming Situation”

The Alpine F1 Team is facing a crisis as they struggle at the bottom of the Constructors’ standings, trailing far behind their competitors. With only 11 points and a 15-point gap from Sauber in ninth place, the 2025 season has been nothing short of disastrous for Alpine. The team’s performance has left a lot to be desired, with only one points finish in the last five races by Pierre Gasly in the Spanish Grand Prix.

Both Gasly and his teammate Franco Colapinto failed to impress in Austria, with dismal results that highlighted Alpine’s ongoing struggles. Executive advisor Flavio Briatore didn’t hold back in expressing his concerns about the team’s current predicament, labeling it as “worrying.” Briatore emphasized the need for Alpine to understand the reasons behind their poor performance if they aim to turn their season around.

“We have lost ground to our direct rivals in the championship after another race without scoring points, and frankly, this level of performance is increasingly worrying,” stated Briatore, pointing out Sauber’s success in the top 10 as a stark contrast to Alpine’s woes. The Italian manager also hinted at his dissatisfaction with the drivers’ performances, suggesting that improvements need to be made.

Briatore’s remarks shed light on the internal challenges facing Alpine, with the team struggling to translate their speed in qualifying into strong race results. As the pressure mounts on the Enstone-based outfit, all eyes are on how they will address their ongoing issues and stage a much-needed comeback in the remainder of the season.
