Volvo aposta na inteligência artificial para alcançar a eficiência no fornecimento e logística de peças

Volvo is investing in artificial intelligence (AI) in the Supply and Parts Logistics department, to drive efficiency, data accessibility, and sustainability.

The Swedish brand revealed that by adopting cutting-edge technologies and advanced analytical strategies, the company has already achieved better parts availability for the multiple markets where it operates, resulting in significant cost reduction and a decrease in CO2 emissions.

The brand, which has been focusing on digital transformation since 2018, prioritizing access and data analysis, stated in a press release that the measures taken “have already resulted in a 50% reduction in the volume of air transport of parts, while increasing the total volume of parts shipped by 25%.”

“The adoption of internal software development and advanced analysis demonstrates our team’s commitment to staying at the forefront, remaining ahead of technological development.”, revealed Rickard Holm, Director of Advanced Analysis in the Supply and Parts Logistics area.

The digital backbone of Volvo’s after-sales department is composed of PULS – its enterprise resource planning system – and the Azure Data Lake, a centralized platform for data storage and analysis. By integrating tools like Power BI, Snowflake, and advanced artificial intelligence, the team has been transforming the way it interprets and presents complex data.
