Tesla continues to innovate, and its commitment to fully autonomous driving now gains a new argument, after Elon Musk’s company announced that it has completed the first autonomous delivery of a car.
Through social media, the company announced that it successfully completed the first autonomous delivery of a car to a customer, having sent a Model Y SUV from the company’s Gigafactory in Austin, Texas, to the customer’s address, a house located 30 minutes from the factory.

Tesla did not reveal which version of the software and hardware was installed on the Model Y that made the delivery trip autonomously, or if the technology is already commercially available to its customers.
The images revealed by Tesla show the autonomous vehicle leaving the factory and making the trip, passing by residences, roads, and intersections until it reached its destination, where the customer was waiting along with Tesla employees.
Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, confirmed on social media that the delivered Model Y had no human intervention during the journey to the customer’s home.
