Renault Niagara Concept: pick-up do futuro com nova plataforma modular

In 2024, Renault announced the launch of a new modular platform, extremely flexible and adapted to different energy sources, to equip its future models worldwide, particularly in Latin America, Turkey, Morocco, and India.

The first of these models was anticipated by the Niagara Concept, a prototype of a pick-up equipped with the new E-Tech hybrid 4WD powertrain technology, based on a new platform with state-of-the-art electrical and electronic architecture, compatible with all current and future regulations.

South American press has now revealed that Renault has already begun testing the new pick-up, with pre-production units produced in Argentina. The French brand has already confirmed that the Niagara will have a hybrid system and therefore should feature the E-Tech Hybrid 4×4 technology, which combines a 1.3 turbo engine with an electric motor at the front.

Additionally, an electric motor at the rear allows for the activation of the rear wheels, enabling the operation of the all-wheel drive system. The transmission will be the same as that of the Kardian, a model intended for the South American market, a dual-clutch gearbox with six speeds.

Remember that the design of the Niagara concept, revealed in 2024, showcased a robust image, highlighted by the raised hood, pronounced wheel arches, and the imposing grille. Furthermore, at the front, instead of the traditional diamond shape, the name Renault is spelled out in full; while at the rear, the sharp taillights are connected by a light bar to the center, where the Billancourt brand logo is located.
