Video – Carlos Sainz’s Grand Prix Nightmare: Pitlane Fire Ends Weekend Before It Begins

Carlos Sainz’s Austrian Grand Prix turned into a fiery nightmare as his Williams F1 car experienced a pre-race pitlane fire, adding to his already disastrous weekend. The troubles began during qualifying when Sainz faced brake issues and underfloor damage, which severely impacted his performance. Starting in 19th place, his hopes of improvement were crushed when his car stalled on the grid before the formation lap even began.

Despite efforts to get the car moving again, Sainz continued to struggle with brake problems, forcing him to return to the pitlane. However, as he reached the end of the pitlane, a terrifying fire erupted from the rear brakes of his Williams, halting his participation in the race before it could even commence. The marshals swiftly extinguished the flames, but the damage was too extensive for repairs to be completed in time for the delayed race start.
