Chris Horner Issues Fierce McLaren Challenge at Red Bull’s Austrian Fortress

Red Bull’s Horner Challenges McLaren: “We’ll Make Their Fans Cry”

In a bold move, Red Bull’s team principal, Chris Horner, has thrown down the gauntlet to McLaren at the Spielberg circuit. Despite a disappointing seventh position start for Max Verstappen at Red Bull’s home Grand Prix, Horner remains confident in their capabilities, aiming to outshine McLaren on the track.

Following five consecutive pole positions in Austria, Verstappen’s setback in qualifying was attributed in part to a yellow flag caused by Pierre Gasly’s spin. Despite this, the reigning world champion’s performance was commendable, securing a second row starting position.

While McLaren’s Lando Norris seems to have the upper hand after qualifying, Red Bull is eyeing a significant victory, with Verstappen showcasing impressive race pace. Horner’s taunting remarks towards McLaren, “Austria is like a home race for us. And in the end, there aren’t as many McLaren fans here as elsewhere. Our goal is to make those who are here cry on Sunday because we have been better,” reveal the competitive spirit fueling the rivalry.

Horner further praised Verstappen’s exceptional year, emphasizing the team’s continuous development efforts with upgrades planned for upcoming races. With improvements expected at Silverstone, Zandvoort, and Monza, Red Bull is determined to maintain their edge over McLaren by even the slightest margin.

As the tension mounts between the two powerhouse teams, the stage is set for a thrilling battle on the track as they vie for supremacy in the upcoming races.
