Helmut Marko Drops Bombshell on Max Verstappen’s Austrian GP Podium Hopes

Red Bull Racing’s Shocking Revelation to Max Verstappen Before Austrian GP

In a stunning twist of events, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko has delivered a harsh reality check to Max Verstappen just before the Austrian Grand Prix. Marko shattered any hopes of a podium finish for the Dutch driver starting from seventh on the grid, bluntly stating that it is “not realistic.”

The reigning world champion faced a setback during qualifying at the Red Bull Ring, having to abort his final lap in Q3 due to yellow flags caused by a spin from Pierre Gasly. This unfortunate turn of events has left Verstappen in a challenging position, needing to battle through the top 10 to salvage a decent result.

Marko emphasized the necessity for an aggressive strategy, especially with the team’s starting position. He hinted at potential tire strategy limitations, noting, “Well, we probably won’t start seeing the soft tyre again. Nobody has a set of new soft tyres left, but other than that, we still have to analyze it all.”

Although Verstappen showcased promising race pace during practice, Marko acknowledged the formidable task ahead, ruling out a podium unless unexpected chaos unfolds. He admitted, “It really won’t be easy. If the race just goes normally, i.e., without too many peculiarities, a podium finish is not realistic…”

The Austrian Grand Prix is poised to be a gripping spectacle, with Verstappen’s resilience and Red Bull’s strategic maneuvers under intense scrutiny. Fans are eagerly anticipating how the drama will unfold on the track, with all eyes on the Dutch driver’s quest for redemption in the face of adversity.
