Red Bull Boss Shuts Down Max Verstappen to Mercedes Rumors

Speculation has been running wild about Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen possibly making a move to Mercedes, but Red Bull team principal, Christian Horner, is not having any of it. He brushed off the ongoing rumors as just “a lot of noise.”

While Mercedes’ Toto Wolff has shown interest in Verstappen in the past, even considering him last season before ultimately choosing Andrea Kimi Antonelli, the talk of Verstappen joining Mercedes for the upcoming season is once again making the rounds.

Horner made it clear that Red Bull is not paying much attention to the rumors, stating, “It’s a lot of noise.” He emphasized the existing contract with Verstappen until 2028 and mentioned that anything being said about the Dutch driver’s future is purely speculative.

Despite Wolff hinting at a low probability of Verstappen moving to Mercedes for 2026, the focus remains on George Russell, whose contract extension is still pending. The recent winner of the Canadian Grand Prix has also been linked to Aston Martin.

Horner commented on Russell’s situation, suggesting the driver might be frustrated with the delay in contract talks. However, he reiterated that the status with Verstappen is crystal clear, and any discussions about contracts are confidential between the parties involved.

The Formula 1 community is eagerly awaiting the final decisions regarding these top drivers, as the transfer market heats up with uncertainties and speculations. Stay tuned for more updates as the drama unfolds in the world of motorsports.
