Pepe Marti Dominates F2 Sprint Race, Seizing Victory at Austrian Grand Prix

In a nail-biting turn of events at the 2025 Austrian Grand Prix, Red Bull junior Pepe Marti claimed victory in a thrilling F2 sprint race that was marred by intense drama and collisions.

The race took a dangerous turn on lap two when Sami Meguetounif’s car flipped over Luke Browning after a collision with Arvid Lindblad, leading to a red flag situation. Despite the terrifying sight of Meguetounif’s car upside down, everyone involved emerged unscathed.

As the race restarted under a safety car, it was Joshua Durksen who initially took the lead. However, Marti, showing his skill and determination, overtook Durksen on lap 18 and surged ahead to secure a comfortable win.

Behind Marti, Durksen settled for second place, while Roman Stanek clinched third after a chaotic final lap that saw multiple cars involved in a dramatic incident. Amaury Cordeel’s ambitious maneuver resulted in a spin that collected several drivers, including John Bennett, Leonardo Fornaroli, and Gabriele Mini, shattering their hopes of a points finish.

Amidst the chaos, McLaren junior Alex Dunne managed to navigate through the turmoil. Despite receiving a time penalty for a false start, Dunne showcased his resilience and skill by finishing in sixth place, earning valuable points in the process.

With only 13 drivers crossing the finish line, Kush Maini found himself in 17th place, having been lapped during the race. This unexpected turn of events placed Maini behind the group involved in the final lap incident, despite their failure to finish the race.

The Austrian Grand Prix’s F2 sprint race delivered heart-stopping action and unexpected outcomes, demonstrating the unpredictable nature of motorsport and the unwavering determination of young talents like Pepe Marti and Alex Dunne.
