One of the most coveted cars from Mercedes-Benz, the AMG-One, a hypercar costing over three million euros, is currently undergoing a recall campaign by the German brand.
According to data from the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA), 219 units out of the 275 produced are at risk of a fire ‘recall’. The issue concerns the rear wing that raises and lowers through a hydraulic system. Apparently, one of the hydraulic lines connected to the wing may not be properly secured.
According to the KBA, this problem could result in the spillage of hydraulic fluid, which is flammable, onto the engine, which has many hot components near the line connected to the wing.
To resolve the issue, a technician will need to inspect the entire hydraulic system of the wing and ensure it is mounted correctly. Otherwise, the entire system will need to be replaced.
The KBA’s note also states that no cases of “incidents with material or personal damage” are known due to the problem affecting the AMG-One.
Remember that in Portugal there is one of these hypercars, the Mercedes-AMG One, which produces a power of 1063 hp, resulting from a 1.6-liter V6 combustion engine, mounted in a central position that offers 574 hp at 9000 rpm, combined with four electric motors, one of which is mounted on the crankshaft and delivers 163 hp, a second motor integrated into the turbocharger that provides 122 hp, and two motors mounted on the front axle, each contributing 163 hp.
In this way, the four electric motors present a power of 612 hp, and in combination with the combustion engine, the AMG One provides a total power of 1063 hp.
