Novo Jeep Compass traz versão elétrica com 375 cv e tração integral

The third generation of the Jeep Compass was recently unveiled and features improved aerodynamic efficiency without compromising its iconic angular design.

The new Compass, which comes with new dimensions, is the most aerodynamic Jeep ever, created for the European market, with enhanced aerodynamics.

Designed to embody the legendary strength and spirit of the brand while opening a new chapter in sustainable mobility, the next-generation Compass sets new standards in aerodynamic efficiency without compromising its Jeep image.

To achieve this, Jeep’s engineering teams equipped the Compass with innovative design solutions, including: a completely flat underbody, invisible to the naked eye but essential for controlling airflow under the vehicle, both for aerodynamic protection and off-road use; Active Grille Shutters (AGS) seamlessly integrated into the bumper, reducing drag by nearly two points at higher speeds, closing when cooling is not needed; aerodynamic wheels that combine a rugged aesthetic with better airflow management, contributing to aerodynamic gains and improving the vehicle’s stance.

In addition, a set of aerodynamic improvements has been made to the rear section, such as well-defined rear edges, aerodynamic elements on the side windows, a roof spoiler, and functional air curtains in the rear wheel arches.

This work has allowed Jeep engineers to achieve a 10% improvement in the drag coefficient (Cx), reaching a category-leading value of less than 0.29, making this the most aerodynamic Jeep ever in the European market.

“The new Compass is more than an evolution; it is a revolution in how we approach efficiency and performance”, said Federico De Medio, Global Program Vehicle Synthesis Manager of the New Jeep Compass. “With the integration of advanced aerodynamic solutions from the very first sketches, we have created a vehicle that offers a significant reduction in drag, greater range, and better fuel economy across the board, while staying true to the Jeep brand’s DNA.”

Developed based on Stellantis’ STLA Medium platform, the new generation of the Compass is available with a full range of powertrains, all electrified, although at different levels, with a 145 hp 48V hybrid, a 195 hp Plug-in hybrid, and 3 fully electric versions, ranging from 213 hp in the front-wheel-drive version to an impressive 375 hp in the all-wheel-drive version.

To achieve this impressive 375 hp, Jeep introduced a new dedicated and more powerful rear electric motor exclusively for the brand, which provides an additional peak power of 49 kW and up to 232 Nm of torque. Coupled with this is a rear reduction of 14:1, resulting in an impressive torque of 3,100 Nm available at the rear wheels. This provides maximum traction in the toughest situations, with the ability to climb a 20% incline, even with zero traction on the front wheels.

The electric charging is also up to the highest standards, with a 160 kW fast DC solution that offers a charging time of 30 minutes (20-80%) and an onboard charger of up to 22 kW. In terms of range, the Compass EV has a range of up to 650 km.
