Kevin Harvick Blasts Brad Keselowski for Pocono Pit Road Blunder

RFK Racing faced another setback at Pocono Raceway, and Kevin Harvick didn’t hold back in pointing fingers at Brad Keselowski for their misfortune. The incident, which occurred on Lap 56, saw Keselowski making a questionable pit call under caution, resulting in a penalty that pushed their No. 6 car to the back of the pack by Lap 61.

Harvick, speaking on his podcast, Happy Hour With Kevin Harvick, didn’t mince his words, stating, “To me, this is just a failure on everybody’s part… You can blame it on the spotter, you can blame it on the driver, you can blame it on the crew chief… just take your choice.” The NASCAR veteran then criticized Keselowski’s decision to override the crew chief’s pit call, highlighting the dangers of drivers getting too involved in strategy.

As a former driver himself, Harvick emphasized the importance of trusting the team and letting them do their job. Drawing from his successful partnership with crew chief Rodney Childers, Harvick stressed the need for drivers to focus on driving while leaving strategic decisions to the experts. This comes in stark contrast to Keselowski’s hands-on approach, as both a driver and team co-owner.

Keselowski, on the other hand, owned up to his mistake, acknowledging that the pit road blunder was ultimately his fault. Despite the setback, Keselowski showcased resilience and leadership by fighting his way back into the top five and even reclaiming the lead during the final stretch of the race. His post-race reflections highlighted the maturity and accountability that define his racing career.

The Pocono incident not only underscored the fine margins in NASCAR racing but also reignited the debate on the role of drivers in strategic decision-making. With tensions running high at RFK Racing, all eyes will be on Keselowski and the team as they aim to bounce back from this latest setback and get their 2025 campaign back on track.
