Carlos Sainz firme em não tomar decisões imprudentes sobre retorno à F1 no GP da Austrália.

Carlos Sainz provided an update on his well-being and likelihood of participating in the Australian Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver had a strong start to his 2024 season, finishing just behind the dominant Red Bull cars with a third place in Bahrain. However, Sainz felt unwell during the first two practice sessions in Jeddah and was later diagnosed with appendicitis. As a result, he was replaced by an F2 driver for the weekend.

After two weeks of recovery, Carlos Sainz is back in the paddock ahead of the Australian Grand Prix. When asked about his physical condition and prospects of racing this weekend, the Ferrari driver confirmed he is fit to compete, but emphasized he will prioritize his well-being and step back if he feels any discomfort.

Sainz appears confident in participating in Free Practice 1 tomorrow to assess his physical condition. It is expected that the Spaniard has fully recovered and can continue showcasing his racing skills, potentially securing a competitive seat for 2025 and beyond, as he will be replaced by another driver.

Carlos Sainz discussed his plan with the FIA to evaluate his physical condition for the Grand Prix. The Spanish driver has made significant progress in his recovery in the past two weeks since surgery. With a physical assessment scheduled with the FIA tomorrow, he is likely to receive clearance to return to racing at the Australian Grand Prix this weekend.

Sainz emphasized that he is cautious about his well-being and will clearly communicate his feelings and any potential pain or discomfort. He prioritizes avoiding unnecessary suffering or worsening his condition.

The pilot seems to be in good spirits ahead of the race weekend, hoping for a smooth and successful performance to regain his momentum after the season opener in Bahrain.
