Sergio Perez Blames Red Bull for Intense Pressure Leading to F1 Exit

Sergio Perez has recently opened up about his tumultuous departure from Red Bull Racing, pointing fingers at the team for creating a toxic atmosphere that ultimately led to his exit from Formula 1. The Mexican driver expressed his belief that Red Bull’s relentless pressure on him to perform ended up costing the team significantly.

In a candid conversation with former driver Memo Rojas Jr, Perez highlighted how Red Bull failed to support him despite being aware of the challenges faced in developing the car. He mentioned, “Decisions were made because there was too much pressure that they themselves ended up creating.”

Perez revealed that despite having a signed contract, the team did not shield him from speculations about his future, which added immense pressure on his side of the garage. This environment of heightened tension seemed to have a negative impact on the entire team, affecting performance and results.

Following Perez’s departure, Red Bull made swift changes, replacing him with Liam Lawson, who was later substituted by Yuki Tsunoda. However, neither driver managed to live up to the expectations set by Perez, who struggled to match the results of his world champion teammate, Max Verstappen.

Interestingly, Perez disclosed that he has received information suggesting that Red Bull now regrets the decision to part ways with him. Despite the team’s regrets, Perez acknowledged the downfall of what was once a great team, hinting at internal issues that contributed to the team’s decline.

The Mexican driver also pointed out the impact of key personnel departures, such as designer Adrian Newey and sporting director Jonathan Wheatley, on Red Bull’s performance. According to Perez, the team started facing challenges after Newey’s exit and further deteriorated with Wheatley’s departure.

As Red Bull navigates through its ups and downs in the F1 standings, Perez’s revelations shed light on the internal dynamics and pressures within top-tier racing teams. With the drama surrounding his exit, the F1 community awaits to see how Red Bull will address these issues and strive for success in the upcoming seasons.
