Yuki Tsunoda’s Fate Hangs in the Balance: Red Bull’s 2026 Decision Looms

Red Bull’s Tsunoda on the Brink of Exclusion for 2026 Season

Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda is facing the heat at Red Bull as his performance in the current season puts his spot on the team at risk for 2026. With only 7 points in eight Grand Prix races, Tsunoda is struggling to impress the Red Bull management, jeopardizing his future with the team alongside superstar Max Verstappen.

Reports suggest that Tsunoda’s chances of staying with Red Bull are slim, and he might have to part ways with the team at the end of the current season unless he shows a significant improvement in his performance. Red Bull has a history of prolonging decisions on drivers in uncertain positions, leaving them scrambling for seats in other teams for the following year.

If Tsunoda were to depart from Red Bull, the frontrunner to replace him at the moment seems to be Isack Hadjar, a name that has already caught the attention of Red Bull’s motorsport advisor, Helmut Marko. Following the footsteps of Pierre Gasly, Liam Lawson, Alex Albon, and Sergio Perez, Tsunoda could become the fifth driver to leave Red Bull with his reputation tarnished.

Despite the uncertain future at Red Bull, drivers like Gasly and Albon have managed to rebuild their careers elsewhere, with Perez even negotiating a return to Formula 1 in 2026 with Cadillac. The intense competition within Red Bull’s driver lineup is putting Tsunoda’s position at stake, making it crucial for him to deliver standout performances to secure his place in the team for the upcoming seasons.
