Verstappen’s future has been a topic of discussion in the Australian Grand Prix paddock at Albert Park this week, as Red Bull is reportedly divided over the recent controversy involving team boss Christian Horner.

Perez remains confident that the team is united, stating: “The team is in a very strong position because, based on our current results and the harmony within the team, I believe it takes a few years to achieve this.”

Verstappen emerged victorious in the first two races of the Formula 1 season in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, while Perez secured second place in both Grand Prix races.

“Currently, the team dynamics are excellent, with everyone working together seamlessly, especially the engineering group,” emphasized the Mexican driver. “This unity is evident on track and in our exceptional efficiency over the past year. So, I see no reason for any changes.”

He further expressed: “If Max were to leave, it would certainly be a setback for the team.”

Perez denied knowledge of an exit clause in Verstappen’s contract with Red Bull, which is expected to run until the end of 2028 but has been the subject of intense speculation amid the ongoing controversy.

“I do not have such a clause,” clarified Pérez. “Regarding Max’s contract, I am unaware of its details, so it would be best to ask him directly. As far as I know, Max has a contract with the team and is fully dedicated to it.”

He categorically stated: “Other issues are beyond my jurisdiction and are not of my concern.”

The Australian Grand Prix is scheduled for Sunday, with two practice sessions on Friday and another on Saturday before the qualifying session in the afternoon.
