Flavio Briatore Blasts Media for Attacking Franco Colapinto

Former Formula 1 team boss, Flavio Briatore, has erupted in anger against the Argentine press for their treatment of young racing driver, Franco Colapinto. In a fiery interview with La Voz, Briatore defended Colapinto vehemently, shutting down any rumors of his replacement and urging the local media to support their own talent instead of spreading negativity.

Briatore’s Outburst
“The team is happy with Franco, period. He is part of the team, and I don’t know what rumors you are referring to,” Briatore declared, hitting back at speculations about Paul Aron potentially taking Colapinto’s place. He directly blamed the Argentine media for the unfounded rumors, stating, “The problem is that the press publishes so much garbage. It’s your fault, not ours. You shouldn’t ask me because you are the ones spreading all this crap, saying this and that about Franco. It’s up to you. If you continue like this, it’s not good for Franco. You should support him and not put pressure on him if you are professionals who want to protect him.”

Not sparing even the social networks, Briatore criticized, “Social media is full of idiots, it’s not reliable. But you, having a driver in F1, you must protect your driver because he is young and being in a new team at the beginning is not easy for anyone.” He emphasized the importance of supporting young talent in the sport and urged the media to focus on positivity rather than baseless rumors.

Support for Colapinto
Highlighting Colapinto’s dedication, Briatore mentioned, “The engineers are very happy; he has spent many hours in the simulator, we have changed the seat and brake pedals, and we are starting to see results.” As a leader in the team, Briatore made it clear that the deadline is not for Colapinto but for the media. He stressed the need to stand behind the young driver as he represents a promising asset for Argentine motorsport.

In a parting shot, Briatore asserted, “We must support Franco; he is a young man and a good resource for Argentine sports. We need to support him, and even in Argentina, you need to forget about the rumors. If you hear something, ask me.”

Flavio Briatore’s passionate defense of Franco Colapinto showcases his unwavering support for the young driver and his disdain for the negative portrayal in the media. As the racing world watches, the focus now shifts to how the Argentine press will respond to Briatore’s scathing comments and whether they will rally behind their homegrown talent.
