The Lamborghini customization department is known for its ability to fulfill the most extravagant requests, among which is Verde Scandel, one of the mythical colors from the house of Sant’Agata Bolognese.
The story of this unique color began in 1960, when Lamborghini launched one of the most iconic models in its history, the Miura, and it is said that a woman, who requested a color that had not yet been developed by Automobili Lamborghini, indicated that the desired color was that of the dress she was wearing at the time. The company representative asked her for a sample, so he could work on the request, and that is how the woman took off her dress and left it as an example for the creation of that shade.
This was the origin of this color, in eternal memory of this singular and ‘scandalous’ episode. Verde Scandel has recently come back into the spotlight, taking a prominent place in the decoration of the new Ducati Panigale V4, revealed on April 9, during the Milan Design Week.
The model is inspired by the Revuelto, Lamborghini’s first hybrid super sports car HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle). This sports car from the Sant’Agata Bolognese brand initiated the hybridization process of the Italian brand’s lineup, defining a new paradigm among super sports cars in terms of performance, sportiness, and driving pleasure.
And so the past returns to highlight the initiatives of the present, with eyes set on the future. A perfect combination that demonstrates how, at Automobili Lamborghini, tradition and history go hand in hand with innovation and technology.
