Ferrari F1 Boss Fred Vasseur Under Fire as Ferrari Chairman’s Visit Sparks Speculation

Amidst mounting pressure on Ferrari’s F1 team principal, Fred Vasseur, a significant event has sent shockwaves through the racing world. Ferrari’s chairman, John Elkann’s absence at the Canadian Grand Prix has raised eyebrows and fueled intense speculation in the Italian media regarding Vasseur’s future.

Rumors swirled prior to the Canadian GP suggesting Vasseur could be ousted from Ferrari before the 2026 project kicks off, contingent on the team’s performance in Montreal, Austria, and Silverstone. Despite Vasseur vehemently refuting these reports, questions about his leadership persist.

The absence of Elkann during the Canadian Grand Prix, where he opted to attend the 24 Hours of Le Mans to support Ferrari’s endurance racing operation led by Antonello Coletta, has further fueled speculation. With Coletta’s recent success in securing Ferrari’s third consecutive Le Mans win, there are whispers that he could potentially replace Vasseur in the future.

While Ferrari’s endurance racing team basks in glory, their F1 performance tells a different story. Struggling to secure a single Grand Prix victory in 2025 and lagging behind in the standings, Ferrari faces a tumultuous season. The team’s lackluster performance contrasts sharply with their endurance racing success, prompting questions about potential leadership changes.

Vasseur’s recent confrontation with the press over rumors of his departure highlighted the turmoil within Ferrari. Expressing his frustration at the disrespect shown towards the team, Vasseur emphasized the importance of unity and determination in overcoming challenges.

As speculations swirl and tensions rise, the future of Ferrari’s F1 team remains uncertain. With whispers of leadership changes and mounting pressure on Vasseur, the racing world eagerly awaits the next chapter in this high-stakes saga.
