Isack Hadjar Blasts F1 Canadian GP Performance: “Everything Went Wrong”

Young driver Isack Hadjar did not hold back in his criticism of the Canadian Grand Prix, labeling the entire race weekend as a disaster for his team, Racing Bulls. Despite a promising start to the season with 20 points in the bag from the European triple-header, Hadjar and his teammate Liam Lawson struggled to find their pace in Canada.

The race saw Hadjar starting from 12th place due to a grid penalty, and his hopes of progression were dashed early on due to excessive tire degradation. Forced to pit early and adopt a risky one-stop strategy, Hadjar found himself stuck in traffic with no chance of making significant progress. Frustrated, he expressed, “I think everything was wrong… the pace was just very poor. I didn’t stand a chance.”

The woes continued for Racing Bulls as Lawson, starting from 19th after difficulties in qualifying, faced his own set of challenges during the race. A cooling issue ultimately led to Lawson’s retirement on lap 53, adding to the team’s disappointment.

Team principal Laurent Mekies acknowledged the team’s lack of pace, stating, “We didn’t have enough pace today to fight in the top 10.” Despite the setbacks, Mekies remains optimistic, highlighting the team’s ability to bounce back stronger after tough weekends like the one in Canada.

The midfield battle in Formula 1 continues to intensify, with Racing Bulls facing stiff competition from rivals like Williams and Haas. As the European summer races heat up, every point becomes crucial in the fight for midfield supremacy.

In a sport where milliseconds can make or break a race, Racing Bulls are gearing up for the challenges ahead, aiming to make significant strides in the upcoming Austrian Grand Prix. Stay tuned as the drama unfolds on the F1 circuit, with teams vying for every advantage in the quest for glory.
