The iconic Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix secured its place on the racing calendar until 2035, thrilling fans and drivers alike. The contract extension with the Octane Racing Group and the Governments of Canada and Quebec ensures that the action-packed Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal will continue to host the adrenaline-fueled event for another decade.

With a rich history dating back to its debut in 1967, the Canadian Grand Prix celebrated its 54th edition in 2025. Stars like George Russell, Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, and Fernando Alonso have all tasted victory on the 4.36 km track, with Hamilton sharing the record for most wins (seven) with the legendary Michael Schumacher.

The Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, which became the permanent home of the race in 1978, is beloved for its intense braking zones, the iconic hairpin turn, and the infamous “Wall of Champions,” adding an extra layer of excitement for both fans and drivers.

In recent years, the promoter has made substantial investments in upgrading the event’s facilities to keep pace with the global growth of Formula 1. This commitment will continue in the coming years, enhancing the experience for teams and spectators alike. Additionally, as part of the calendar’s streamlining efforts, the Canadian Grand Prix will be moved to an earlier date starting in 2026.

The extension of the Canadian Grand Prix contract brings certainty and excitement to the world of Formula 1, promising more unforgettable moments and fierce competition on the historic Montreal track for years to come.
