Novo Renault 5 E-Tech Electric já tem lista de espera com mais de 50 mil pedidos

A AESC inaugurated a battery cell factory in Douai, in northern France, which will have an annual production capacity of 10 gigawatt-hours.

The new production unit of AESC is located near the Renault factory and will allow the production of batteries for up to 200,000 electric vehicles. Initially, the company will exclusively supply batteries for the new fully electric Renault 5.

The new AESC factory, formerly known as Envision AESC and with a majority Chinese capital, will initially employ around 650 workers, with plans to increase to 1,000 in the medium term.

A AESC has already announced that the factory uses clean electricity and modern processes in battery manufacturing. “We are proud to contribute to accelerating the decarbonization of transportation worldwide by investing in cutting-edge battery technology and skilled labor.”, said AESC President, Lei Zhang.

The new AESC factory in Douai is part of Renault’s “ElectriCity” industrial project, which consolidates the electric mobility activities of the three factories of the brand located in northern France, and was financed with the support of French and European partners.
