Antonio Fuoco Disqualified: #50 Ferrari Loses P4 Finish at Le Mans Shockingly

Scandal at Le Mans as Ferrari Loses Top Spot Due to Technical Violation

In a shocking turn of events at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans, Ferrari AF Corse’s #50 499P has been stripped of its fourth-place finish due to a critical technical infringement. The powerhouse trio of Antonio Fuoco, Nicklas Nielsen, and Miguel Molina, who clinched victory at the 2024 Le Mans, found themselves embroiled in controversy during this year’s 93rd edition.

The post-race scrutiny revealed that the #50 Ferrari failed to meet the deflection test criteria outlined in Article 3.8.7 of the 2025 LMH Technical Regulations and the car’s homologation form. Consequently, the Ferrari Hypercar was disqualified, reshuffling the final standings and promoting the #12 JOTA Cadillac V-Series.R to fourth and the #7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid to fifth.

Amidst the chaos, Alpine emerged victorious, securing top-10 finishes with both the #35 and #36 A424 Hypercars. This success marked a significant turnaround for the team following a heartbreaking double mechanical retirement last year.

The disqualification saga was singularly focused on the #50 Ferrari, allowing the #83 to maintain its overall triumph and the #51 to retain its third-place finish. Despite suspicions raised during a pit stop about the rear wing support missing bolts, no immediate action was taken.

Further investigations revealed that the rear wing deflection exceeded the permissible limit by a staggering 37mm, raising concerns about safety implications at high speeds exceeding 350 kph. Ferrari acknowledged the non-compliance and the concerning deviation from wing homologation standards.

The dramatic turn of events at Le Mans serves as a stark reminder of the intense scrutiny and unforgiving nature of motorsport regulations. Ferrari’s fall from grace underscores the fine margins between glory and disgrace in the cutthroat world of endurance racing.

Stay tuned for more updates as the fallout from Ferrari’s technical violation continues to reverberate throughout the motorsport community.
