Young sensation Kimi Antonelli gives credit to his teammate George Russell for his stellar performance in securing his first-ever Formula 1 podium at the thrilling Canadian Grand Prix. The Italian rookie, starting in fourth place, outperformed Oscar Piastri to claim third place at the iconic Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, while Russell dominated the race from pole position.

Antonelli’s podium finish comes after a challenging European triple-header where he failed to score any points at Imola, Monaco, and Barcelona. The 18-year-old driver expressed gratitude towards Russell for his guidance and mentorship, emphasizing the positive dynamic within the Mercedes team.

Despite his podium success, Antonelli remains focused on improving his performance, particularly in qualifying sessions. He highlighted the importance of maintaining momentum and aiming for more podium finishes, with an ultimate goal of securing his first F1 victory in the future.

Reflecting on his podium experience, Antonelli described the overwhelming sensation of standing on the podium for the first time, surrounded by the cheering crowd. The young driver expressed a desire for more success, fueled by the euphoria of his maiden podium achievement.

Antonelli faced a fierce battle towards the end of the race, as he defended his position against a charging Oscar Piastri. The intense competition added to the thrill of the race, with Antonelli pushing himself to the limit to secure his podium finish.

The Italian driver’s performance at the Canadian Grand Prix has not gone unnoticed, with fans and experts alike praising his talent and determination on the track. As Antonelli continues to impress in his debut F1 season, all eyes will be on him as he aims to build on his success and establish himself as a formidable force in the world of Formula 1.
