Fim dos motores a combustão em 2035 é “irrealista”

Renault has confirmed that Luca de Meo will leave his position as CEO of the French group effective July 15. In a statement, Renault announces that “after five years at the helm of the Renault Group, Luca de Meo has announced his decision to leave his position” to embrace new challenges outside the automotive sector.

In the statement, the French brand highlights that “Under his leadership, the company has regained a solid foundation, boasts an impressive range of products, and has resumed growth. In addition to being an exceptional captain of the industry, Luca de Meo is also a creative, committed, passionate, and inspiring person”.

According to information from Le Figaro, 58-year-old Luca de Meo will take on the role of general director of the luxury group Kering, owner of Gucci, whose majority shareholder, François-Henri Pinault, has reportedly decided, at 63 years old, to reshape the management team and retain only the presidency, according to information from Challenges on June 12. The luxury group stated that it would not comment on this information.

“There comes a moment in life when you know the work is done. At Renault Group, we faced immense challenges in less than five years! We did what many thought was impossible. Today, the results speak for themselves: the best in our history. A strong team. An agile organization. And a strategic plan prepared for the next generation of products. That is why I have decided that it is time to pass the baton. I leave a transformed company looking towards the future, to put my experience to the service of other sectors and live other adventures.”, said Luca de Meo in a statement.
