Tony Stewart rotula Bristol Food City 500 como a ‘corrida mais incomum de sempre’

Chase Briscoe finished in 13th place at Bristol, despite starting the race in the top-10. The NASCAR Cup race at Bristol Motor Speedway last Sunday was marked by unusual tire wear and resulting chaos. The combination of Goodyear tire rubber compound and resin applied to the concrete track caused rubber buildup on the surface. Chase Briscoe, a driver for Stewart Haas Racing, described the event as bizarre.

The race was won by a skilled driver in a Toyota, who managed tire wear and secured the victory. However, Briscoe and many other drivers struggled with extreme tire wear and ended up off the lead lap. Briscoe, who finished in 13th place, admitted it was the most unusual race he had ever been in. He believed that without the extreme tire wear, the race would have been much more enjoyable.

Throughout the race, drivers had to find a balance between preserving their tires and pushing their limits. However, several drivers experienced tire blowouts, causing their races to unravel. Despite the challenges, drivers acknowledged that this race was unique. While it was a fun experience, many expressed a desire to avoid such extreme tire wear in the future.

Briscoe is a highly respected driver and the lead driver for Stewart Haas Racing. However, he has yet to have a standout performance this season, and tire wear at Bristol prevented him from doing so once again. Despite starting in the top-10, Briscoe was unable to make progress and ended up losing positions. He felt he had underperformed, considering the potential of his car.

The 29-year-old driver was frustrated with the result, believing he had a competitive car for the weekend. However, he found optimism in comparing this year’s result with his previous attempts on the track. He sees this as an improvement and hopes to have a better weekend at COTA next week.
