Lewis Hamilton Aims for Ferrari Podium at Canadian GP Amid Driving Style Adjustments

In a bold move, Lewis Hamilton is eyeing his first-ever Ferrari podium at the upcoming Canadian Grand Prix after implementing crucial changes to his driving style. The seven-time world champion displayed a remarkable performance by clinching the fifth position on the grid at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, outpacing his teammate Charles Leclerc by three spots. Hamilton’s strong qualifying session at a track where he has triumphed seven times in the past has fueled his ambition for a podium finish.

Acknowledging the historical significance of the circuit, Hamilton expressed his optimism, stating, “On one side history, I’ve had great times here. It’s a great circuit. Lots can happen, obviously. So for that, I’m open-minded.” Despite recognizing that their car’s baseline performance is lagging behind frontrunners, Hamilton remains hopeful, emphasizing the importance of finding the right balance for the front wing to enhance their race pace.

While Hamilton secured the fifth spot on the grid, Ferrari once again found themselves trailing behind Mercedes, Red Bull, and McLaren in the pecking order. Hamilton admitted that the SF-25 is not well-suited for the Montreal circuit, prompting him to make significant adjustments to his driving style compared to his approach with a Mercedes car at the same venue. He highlighted the challenges faced with the Ferrari, noting, “This car drives so much differently to what I drove before. So much difference. You go into low-speed corners, and it just you’re waiting, and waiting it doesn’t want to turn. It’s definitely not suited for this circuit.”

With the anticipation building for the Canadian Grand Prix, Hamilton’s strategic adaptation to the unique demands of the circuit sets the stage for an enthralling battle for a podium finish. Stay tuned as the racing spectacle unfolds at this iconic venue, where Hamilton aims to make history by clinching a coveted podium spot in a Ferrari.
