The average weekly price calculated by the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) showed a mixed behavior, rising 0.4% for gasoline and decreasing 0.2% for diesel, the most used fuel in Portugal.
According to the ERSE report, released this Monday, the efficient price showed an update, “taking into account the weekly variation of international quotations for simple gasoline 95 at +1% and for simple diesel at -0.4%”.
Thus, “for the week of March 18 to 24, the Efficient Price before taxes is €0.855 per liter for simple gasoline 95 and €0.905 for simple diesel. After taxes, the Efficient Price is €1.763 per liter for simple gasoline 95, and €1.659 for simple diesel”.
It is worth noting that the efficient price “is an average weekly price determined by the ERSE and results from the sum of the following components: fuel prices in reference international markets and their respective maritime freights, primary logistics, including in this part the strategic and security reserves of the National Oil System, additional costs for the incorporation of biofuels, and the retail component increased by the respective taxes”.
Regarding the previous week, the report states that “the average of the Public Sale Prices announced on the signs, and reported in the Single Energy Counter, was 2.2 cents per liter above the Efficient Price, for that week, in the case of regular gasoline 95, and 2.3 cents above in the case of regular diesel”.
In percentage terms, “regular gasoline 95 was announced on the signs 1.2% above the Efficient Price and regular diesel was 1.4% above”, according to the report.
