Connor Zilisch Secures Xfinity Series Pole in Epic Mexico City Showdown

Young Phenom Connor Zilisch Dominates Xfinity Series Pole Position in Mexico City

A rising star at just 18 years old, Connor Zilisch showcased his exceptional road racing skills once again at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City. Piloting his JR Motorsports Chevrolet with finesse, Zilisch blazed through the qualifying rounds, clinching the pole position for The Chilango 150 with a lightning-fast lap time of 92.372 seconds at 94.314 mph.

This remarkable achievement marks Zilisch’s fifth pole position in only 18 Xfinity Series starts, solidifying his reputation as a force to be reckoned with on the track. Notably, this also stands as his fourth pole of the current season, highlighting his unwavering consistency and talent behind the wheel.

In a fierce display of competition, NASCAR Cup Series regulars Ty Gibbs and Christopher Bell secured the second and third spots on the grid, commanding their Joe Gibbs Racing Toyotas with precision and speed. The top five positions were rounded out by another duo from JR Motorsports, with Carson Kvapil and Sammy Smith claiming fourth and fifth place, respectively.

The rest of the top 10 grid for the Xfinity Series race was filled with notable names such as Sam Mayer, Austin Hill, Taylor Gray, Nick Sanchez, and Jesse Love, promising an electrifying and intense battle for supremacy on the track.

As the anticipation builds for The Chilango 150, all eyes will undoubtedly be on Connor Zilisch as he leads the pack from the pole position, ready to showcase his exceptional skills and tenacity in pursuit of victory.
