Timo Glock Demands Lance Stroll’s F1 Exit After Disastrous Comeback Crash

Former F1 driver Timo Glock is not holding back on his opinions about Lance Stroll’s future in Formula 1. After Stroll’s disastrous crash during his F1 return, Glock is urging Aston Martin to cut ties with the Canadian driver for the 2026 season, stating that Stroll is “not where he needs to be.”

Stroll, who is currently in his ninth season in F1, has faced criticism for not living up to expectations despite achieving one pole position and three podium finishes in his 174 starts. As the son of billionaire Lawrence Stroll, who owns the Aston Martin F1 team, Stroll has been labeled as the ultimate pay driver.

Although Stroll has been responsible for almost all of Aston Martin’s points in the 2025 season, doubts have been raised about his dedication to Formula 1. Rumors even suggested a potential switch from racing to tennis. Stroll’s recent absence from the Spanish Grand Prix due to a reported hand and wrist injury added fuel to the speculation.

Returning for the Canadian Grand Prix, Stroll defended his decision to race despite his medical concerns, only to end up crashing during FP2. The crash, which damaged his Aston Martin, further fueled doubts about his performance and future in the sport.

Glock, when asked about Aston Martin’s decision to retain Stroll for the next season, bluntly stated, “No.” He criticized Stroll for his lack of consistency and performance, emphasizing that Stroll has not been able to keep up with his competitors, notably Fernando Alonso.

With Stroll already under contract for the 2026 season, the discussion around his future in F1 continues to intensify. While Aston Martin has shown faith in Stroll by signing him for ‘2025 and beyond,’ the pressure is mounting for the young driver to prove his worth in the highly competitive world of Formula 1.
