In a shocking turn of events, McLaren’s Lando Norris unleashed a scathing assessment of his team’s performance after a tumultuous Friday practice session at the Canadian Grand Prix. Despite finishing second in the second practice session, narrowly losing out to Mercedes’ George Russell, Norris did not hold back in his criticism.

Describing it as McLaren’s “worst Friday of the year,” Norris expressed his frustration with the team’s struggle to find the right setup for their car at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. He acknowledged the challenging nature of the track but emphasized the need to improve the car’s performance to make it more drivable.

While maintaining confidence in his own abilities to compete over the weekend, Norris admitted that Mercedes currently holds the upper hand, especially after Russell’s impressive performance in FP2. He highlighted the competitiveness among the teams at the top and recognized Mercedes as a strong contender.

Despite being in a decent position overall, Norris acknowledged the need to simplify things and make the car more user-friendly to gain a competitive edge. He remained optimistic about McLaren’s prospects but acknowledged that they may not be the quickest on the track at the moment.

As the Canadian Grand Prix unfolds, all eyes will be on McLaren as they strive to overcome their Friday struggles and bounce back stronger in the upcoming sessions. Stay tuned for more updates on this intense battle for supremacy in Formula 1.
