The VW Golf GTI Edition 50 is a special edition of the well-known model from the German brand, which has not yet hit the market but has just set a record by becoming the fastest production model from VW at Nürburgring.
The iconic compact sports car completed a lap of the famous German circuit in 7 minutes 46.13 seconds, which constitutes a record for a production model from the Wolfsburg brand.
“The new Golf GTI Edition 50 is a statement with which VW expresses the pure GTI idea – the combination of superior power and highly precise chassis with front-wheel drive – more effectively than ever”, explained driver Benny Leuchter after achieving the new record behind the wheel of the test Golf GTI Edition 50.
It is worth noting that the exclusive Golf GTI Edition 50 will be revealed on June 20, which is next week, before the 24-hour race at Nürburgring, and will be launched in 2026 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this iconic VW model.
