Jean Alesi: Ferrari Fate Sealed by Vasseur’s Power Struggle with Todt Legacy

Jean Alesi, the legendary former Ferrari driver, has recently shed light on the current state of the iconic racing team from Maranello. In a gripping interview, Alesi reminisced about his memorable victory thirty years ago at the 1995 Canadian Grand Prix, where he hitched a ride back to the pits with Michael Schumacher due to running out of fuel in his Ferrari.

Alesi, who still holds a special place in the hearts of Ferrari fans, reflected on his time with the team, acknowledging the challenges he faced with machinery that was not capable of clinching a championship. Drawing parallels between himself and the talented Charles Leclerc, Alesi praised the young driver’s skills and expressed hope for his future opportunities to vie for a world title.

In a bold statement, Alesi compared the current Ferrari team principal, Vasseur, to the legendary Jean Todt, highlighting a perceived lack of authoritative power within the organization. He pointed out internal struggles within Ferrari, attributing the team’s difficulties not to Vasseur’s decisions but to certain individuals lacking competence and vying for control.

Looking ahead, Alesi speculated on the potential resurgence of Lewis Hamilton to peak performance levels, emphasizing the importance of adapting well to the car for sustained success on the track. With insights from a seasoned racing veteran like Alesi, the dynamics and challenges within Ferrari’s ranks come to the forefront, setting the stage for what could be a tumultuous yet intriguing future for the famed racing team.
