Robert Kubica’s Glory Stolen: Toyota Dominates Le Mans 24H Practice After Pitlane Drama

In a stunning turn of events at the Le Mans 24 Hours, Toyota rises to the top in the second practice round, but not without controversy. The AF Corse 499P Le Mans Hypercar, driven by Robert Kubica, initially set the pace with a blistering time of 3m25.101s, only to have it scrubbed due to a pitlane speeding violation. This turn of events allowed Sebastien Buemi in the #8 Toyota GR010 HYBRID LMH to claim the top spot.

However, the drama didn’t end there. After the chequered flag had fallen, the #8 Toyota had a collision with the Kessel Racing Ferrari 296 GT3, driven by Casper Stevenson. Despite the incident, Buemi held onto his lead with a time of 3m26.156s.

Behind Toyota, the #12 Jota Cadillac V-Series.R and the yellow AF Corse Ferrari followed in second and third place, respectively. The factory Porsche 963 LMDhs and the #50 factory Ferrari also put in strong performances, securing the fourth and fifth positions.

In the LMP2 class, the AO by TF ORECA continued to dominate, with Dane Cameron leading the pack with a time of 3m37.515s, more than a second ahead of the competition.

In the LMGT3 category, Lexus made a triumphant return to the top with Jose Maria Lopez setting an impressive time of 3m55.422s, leading the pack in a thrilling display of skill.

As the Le Mans field gears up for the third free practice and the upcoming qualifying rounds, the competition is fierce, and the stakes are high. Stay tuned for more adrenaline-pumping action at one of the most prestigious endurance races in the world.
