Nyck de Vries faces heart-wrenching setback in 2025 Le Mans 24 Hours qualifying

The 2025 Le Mans 24 Hours Qualifying Day 1 resulted in a shocking outcome as the #7 Toyota missed out on Hyperpole, causing a major upset for Nyck de Vries, Mike Conway, and Kamui Kobayashi. Despite the efforts of de Vries during the first qualifying stage, the team fell short by 0.385s, placing 17th overall and forcing them to start from the back of the pack.

On the brighter side, the #8 Toyota, piloted by Brendon Hartley, secured a spot in eighth place, along with the #38 Cadillac and #36 Alpine teams. Notable names like Jenson Button and Mick Schumacher were part of these successful crews, adding to the excitement of the event.

The qualifying format for Le Mans mirrors F1’s procedure, with times being reset as the competition progresses. The top cars from each class will advance to Hyperpole 1, where the field will be further trimmed down before the final showdown for pole position.

Among the standout performers from Day 1 were the Cadillac Hertz Team Jota, BMW M Team WRT, and Ferrari AF Corse, showcasing their speed and skill on the track. As the competition heats up, all eyes are on the upcoming sessions to see who will emerge victorious in this prestigious endurance race.

Stay tuned for more updates and detailed results from the 2025 Le Mans 24 Hours Qualifying as the event unfolds, promising thrills, surprises, and intense battles for pole position.
