Cadillac orders the recall of more than 41,000 units of the electric Lyriq.

Lyriq-V é o Cadillac mais rápido de todos os tempos

The Cadillac Lyriq is the model that marks the beginning of a new era for the brand as it is the first 100% electric vehicle from the American manufacturer.

However, the well-known model is now subject to a considerable “recall,” as the brand has called back more than 41,000 units from 2023 and 2024 in the U.S. due to an issue with the 33’’ curved screen that can go blank while driving, disabling the instrument panel, rearview camera, and other safety features that are mandatory in the U.S.

This recently announced “recall” follows an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), initiated in March, after the government looked into customer complaints alleging malfunctioning screens. The investigation identified 1,209 vehicles that reportedly had issues with the screens.

After analyzing the data, Cadillac found that “the vast majority of cases occur in 2023 and 2024 vehicles equipped with video control modules” that were not updated with the latest software.

As this is a software issue, the solution is quite simple, as it can be resolved through a remote update. However, the company has already announced that owners of the affected vehicles can go to a dealership for a technician to update the system.
