Albon: The 2024 Williams Formula 1 car has certainly eliminated previous weaknesses.

Albon: Carro de Fórmula 1 da Williams de 2024 certamente eliminou fraquezas anteriores.

Alexander Albon, Williams Racing driver, believes that the team’s new Formula 1 car for 2024, the FW46, has successfully addressed the issues that plagued its predecessor. The previous car, the FW45, performed well in low drag conditions, but struggled on more complex circuits. However, Albon is confident that the FW46 has addressed these issues, as evidenced by its performance in the season opener in Bahrain. Although there are still areas for improvement, Albon is optimistic about the car’s potential and the team’s ability to further explore its setup.

Williams has yet to score points in the first two races of the season, partly due to the dominance of the front-running teams and also due to the defensive tactics of Haas. It is still unclear how teams like Haas, RB, and Williams will position themselves in the Constructors’ Championship, but it seems they are vying for positions from sixth to eighth. The general consensus is that there is a significant gap between the top five teams (Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes, and Aston Martin) and the rest of the grid, with Haas being the only team from the lower half to score a point.

Despite the challenges, Albon’s focus remains on learning as much as possible about the FW46. He believes that the upcoming races will be crucial in better understanding the car and improving its balance in the corners. Williams aims to build on their successful 2023 campaign, where they achieved their best result in the Constructors’ Championship since 2017 by finishing seventh.
