Will Buxton pede revisão significativa do sistema da F1 para pegar pilotos que pulam a largada depois que Lando Norris e Sergio Perez evitam penalidade em Jeddah.

There has been a lot of discussion in the racing community about the false starts that occurred during the Saudi Arabian GP. Several drivers, including Sergio Perez, Will Buxton, and Lando Norris, made mistakes at the start of the race. Surprisingly, none of them faced any consequences for their actions. One of the drivers, whose name was omitted, was involved in a false start. This issue sparked various opinions, but after a thorough investigation, the British driver was not penalized. Norris admitted his mistake during a conversation with McLaren over the team radio. The cockpit camera also captured the false start, but the F1 system failed to detect it.

After the race, a well-known F1 commentator and presenter criticized the decision made by the F1 system. Later, someone on an undisclosed platform shared a video of the false start incident from the Saudi Arabian GP involving the driver. The commentator responded to the video, stating that if the system did not detect Norris’ false start, it also would not have detected Perez’s gradual movement. The level of tolerance to detect a “jump” needs to be reassessed.

In the video, it is evident that Sergio Perez made a false start before the official start of the race. However, to everyone’s surprise, he was not penalized for this action. Buxton believes that the sport needs to reassess its F1 system and reconsider how it can make the right decisions. Another driver, referred to as Honey Badger, currently races for Red Bull’s sister team, VCARB, formerly known as AlphaTauri. In 2023, Ricciardo joined Red Bull as a reserve driver, but later in the season, he replaced an undisclosed driver at AlphaTauri.

Opinions on Ricciardo’s career choices are divided. While some were pleased to see him racing, others criticized his decisions. Buxton believes that Ricciardo had a significant opportunity, but did not make the most of it. Ricciardo was previously a member of Red Bull before moving to Renault. However, after not achieving the desired results, he joined McLaren, where his performances decreased significantly. As a result, McLaren replaced him after two years with an undisclosed driver. Many wonder if Ricciardo made the wrong choice in leaving Red Bull in the first place, especially considering his return as a reserve driver.
