Helmut Marko’s Shocking Silence on Max Verstappen-Leclerc Collision Rocks F1 World

Red Bull Racing Advisor Dodges Questions on Verstappen-Leclerc Collision

In a recent turn of events at the Spanish Grand Prix, Red Bull’s motorsport advisor, Helmut Marko, has chosen to remain tight-lipped about Max Verstappen’s collision with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc. While Marko attributed Verstappen’s clash with George Russell to “frustration,” he declined to delve into the details of the incident with Leclerc.

Verstappen’s race took an unexpected turn when a late safety car prompted most of the field to pit for fresh soft tires, including the Dutch driver. However, to his dismay, Verstappen received new hard tires, proving detrimental to Red Bull’s performance as he struggled to generate heat in the tires. This led to a dramatic moment where Leclerc managed to overtake him on the start/finish straight, resulting in contact between the two drivers.

Despite the stewards opting not to take further action post-race, Marko chose not to elaborate on the incident with Leclerc, stating, “We realized we had to take a risk to have any chance at all.” The decision to opt for the hard tires was deemed a mistake, with Marko highlighting their poor performance during warm-up.

Marko acknowledged Verstappen’s challenges with grip due to the unsuitable tire choice, leading to a precarious situation with Leclerc. While the advisor refrained from delving into specifics, he emphasized the nature of risks in racing, where outcomes can swing either way.

As the aftermath of the Verstappen-Leclerc collision lingers, fans and experts await further insights into the incident and its implications on the ongoing Formula 1 season.
