In a shocking turn of events at the 2025 Spanish Grand Prix, McLaren’s Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris clinched a remarkable 1-2 victory, leaving the competition in the dust. The highly anticipated race took an unexpected twist as Max Verstappen’s race crumbled due to late clashes with Charles Leclerc and George Russell.

Verstappen’s misfortune was sealed with a 10-second time penalty imposed by the stewards for his collision with Russell, moments after Red Bull instructed him to allow the Mercedes driver to pass following a previous incident. The penalty saw Verstappen plummet from fifth place to a disappointing 10th, causing a major upset in the rankings.

The final standings of the Spanish Grand Prix were as follows:
1. Oscar Piastri (McLaren)
2. Lando Norris (McLaren) +2.471s
3. Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) +10.455s
4. George Russell (Mercedes) +11.359s
5. Nico Hulkenberg (Sauber) +13.648s
6. Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari)
7. Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls)
8. Pierre Gasly (Alpine)
9. Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin)
10. Max Verstappen (Red Bull) +11.826s
