IMSA revela calendário para 2025.

The IMSA President, John Doonan, made a surprising announcement on Friday, revealing the schedule for the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. This announcement was shocking, considering that the 2024 season calendar was only revealed last August. Doonan gathered IMSA shareholders at Sebring International Raceway, before the qualifying session for the 12-hour race at the venue. The 2025 schedule follows the same order as this year’s calendar, including the five races that make up the Michelin Endurance Cup list. The action kicks off with the traditional Roar Before the 24 warm-up event at Daytona International Speedway from January 17-19, 2025. The 24 Hours of Daytona will take place from January 23-26. The 12 Hours of Sebring, which serves as the second round of the Michelin Endurance Cup and overall championship calendar, is scheduled for March 12-15. Both Daytona and Sebring will feature all four classes: GTP, LMP2, GTD Pro, and GTD. After Sebring, there will be four Sprint events at Long Beach Street Circuit (April 11-12), Laguna Seca (May 9-11), and Detroit Street Circuit (May 30-31). The Long Beach race will last for 100 minutes and will feature the GTP and GTD classes. The two-hour and 40-minute race at Laguna will see the GTP, GTD, and GTD Pro classes competing. Detroit will host a 100-minute race with GTP and GTD Pro competitors. IMSA made the announcement about the 2025 schedules for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge at a surprise meeting of IMSA shareholders on the eve of the 12 Hours of Sebring Presented by Cadillac.

After the event in Detroit, the Michelin Endurance Cup will continue from June 26-29 with the Six Hours of Glen at Watkins Glen International. This race will include all classes.

The GTP class will not be participating in the events at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park from July 11 to 13. Instead, the LMP2 class will be featured alongside GTD Pro and GTD.

The IMSA Sportscar Weekend at Road America from July 31 to August 3 will be the only two-hour and 40-minute race that will feature all four classes. Following that, there will be a GT-exclusive event at Virginia International Raceway from August 22 to 24.

The Michelin Endurance Cup will be concluded with the last two races of the 2025 calendar. The first is the Battle of the Bricks, a six-hour race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway from September 19 to 21. The second is the 10-hour Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta from October 8 to 11. All classes will participate in these last two rounds.

Doonan, speaking on behalf of IMSA, expressed pride in announcing the 2025 schedule so early. He thanked the promoter partners for their collaboration, which allowed them to share the plans in advance. By providing next year’s schedule in advance, fans, competitors, and partners can start planning an amazing 2025 season, even as the 2024 season is still ongoing.
