Young F1 driver Kimi Antonelli is on the rise and hungry for success in Spain!
After a challenging start in the morning practice session, Antonelli showed his prowess by climbing to P6 in the afternoon at the Barcelona circuit. The Italian driver, representing Mercedes, faced some issues with bouncing on the track but managed to overcome them as the day progressed.
Antonelli expressed his optimism and determination, stating, “It has been an interesting day. The initial laps with low fuel were tough in FP1. However, everything started to click in FP2. I felt more confident with each lap and was able to find a good rhythm in the runs.”
The young racer also highlighted the team’s strategic approach, mentioning, “We deliberately took a slightly different approach compared to George in the long runs. Now we will take the necessary time to analyze all the data collected during the day and evaluate the right direction for the rest of the weekend. I see that we are making progress and, thanks to the overnight work tonight, I hope we can have a competitive weekend.”
