Aston Martin confiante em fechar a lacuna para a Red Bull com fortes estratégias de crescimento na F1.

Fernando Alonso, member of the Aston Martin F1 team, took part in the practice day of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on March 7, 2024. Aston Martin is optimistic about their chances of catching up to Red Bull in the Formula 1 championship. The team has implemented “good” development plans to reduce the gap between them and their competitors. Last season, Aston Martin surprised everyone with their performance, regularly achieving podium finishes with their AMR23 car driven by Fernando Alonso. However, as the development race progressed, the team’s competitiveness decreased, causing them to drop from second to fifth in the Constructors’ standings. Despite this setback, Aston Martin has not lost hope and aims to build a strong foundation with their AMR24 car, which can be further developed.

Tom McCullough, Performance Director of Aston Martin, believes that McLaren’s impressive turnaround last season is proof that progress is possible. He emphasizes that Aston Martin does not want to stand still and is committed to continuous development. McCullough also acknowledges that Aston Martin is still a growing team compared to Red Bull, which has a more established and experienced operation. He highlights that Aston Martin’s recent move to a new base indicates their ongoing growth and learning process. McCullough points out the team’s new facilities, such as a wind tunnel and simulator, and expresses his determination to further develop the car.

Fernando Alonso, despite achieving a fifth place in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, admits that Aston Martin is currently at a disadvantage in terms of performance in races compared to their rivals. However, Aston Martin Team Principal Mike Krack reveals that the team plans to introduce significant upgrades once the European season begins. McCullough acknowledges that the AMR24 has a different aerodynamic philosophy from its predecessor, but remains optimistic about its development path. He explains that the team has already made progress by bringing new parts to the track and emphasizes that they are constantly striving to improve the car by introducing upgrades at every race.
