In a thrilling start to the Spanish Grand Prix, Lando Norris dominated the first Formula 1 practice session at the Barcelona circuit. The McLaren driver showcased his prowess by setting the fastest time of 1m13.718s, leaving his rivals trailing behind. With McLaren leading the pack, Norris outshone the competition, including championship leader Oscar Piastri from the same team.

Surprisingly, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was the closest contender to Norris, trailing by only 0.367 seconds. The Ferraris of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc also showed promising performance, outpacing Piastri. However, the Mercedes duo, George Russell and Kimi Antonelli, faced challenges and lagged behind in the mid-field battle.

Racing Bulls made a notable impression with Liam Lawson securing the sixth spot, demonstrating a fierce fight for the midfield positions. The practice session was relatively incident-free, except for a moment when Haas’ Ryo Hirakawa encountered the gravel trap at Turn 10. Despite the setback, Hirakawa managed to recover and finish ahead of his teammate.

As the teams gear up for the upcoming races, the competition is heating up, with drivers pushing their limits to claim the top spot on the grid. With intense rivalry and unexpected twists, the Spanish Grand Prix promises to deliver adrenaline-pumping action and fierce battles on the track.
