Alemanha vai testar carregamento por indução dinâmica

Charging an electric vehicle while driving remains one of the most sought-after goals by the automotive industry in the transition to electric mobility.

In Germany, an innovative lane is being built on the A6 highway, near the city of Amberg, which aims to test dynamic induction charging, that is, while driving. For this purpose, coils are integrated into the asphalt to generate a magnetic field that can be used by properly equipped vehicles to generate electricity.

The research project is led by the manufacturing automation division and production systems of Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen, in Nuremberg.

The technology will be installed as part of a road renovation project over a section measuring 5.7 kilometers.

However, this section of road and the use of the new technology is reserved only for specially equipped test vehicles. Production models cannot use the charging option as they are not equipped with the necessary hardware.

The German press has already revealed that the data obtained from the driving tests will allow for the collection of fundamental data on the efficiency and technical feasibility of this project, and that the first tests are scheduled for the end of July, beginning of August.
