Lewis Hamilton’s struggles at Ferrari have been met with a fierce defense by none other than Carlos Sainz. The Spanish driver is adamant that criticism towards Hamilton is completely unjust, citing the challenging nature of transitioning to a new team after a decade at Mercedes.

Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, has faced difficulties in finding his pace at Ferrari, particularly over a single lap. Despite this, he has shown glimpses of his true potential with strong race performances, such as his sprint victory in China and impressive recovery to fourth place in Imola.

Sainz, drawing from his own experience as a rookie at Williams, emphasizes the time it takes for a driver to adapt to a new team and car. He believes that judging Hamilton’s Ferrari stint based on a few races is simply unfair and that true assessment can only come after multiple seasons.

The seasoned driver highlights the challenges of breaking away from muscle memory developed over years of driving a particular car. He stresses that both Hamilton and himself needed time to adjust to their new environments, and it is only natural for performances to fluctuate during this adaptation period.

Sainz’s resolute defense of Hamilton sends a powerful message to critics, urging patience and a long-term perspective when evaluating the success of a driver at a new team. As both drivers continue to navigate the complexities of their respective transitions, only time will reveal the true extent of their capabilities in their new racing environments.
