Renault CEO Shuts Down Alpine F1 Exit Rumors with Bold Statement

In a bold and resolute move, Renault CEO Luca de Meo has quashed all speculations surrounding Alpine’s potential departure from Formula 1. Despite facing challenges and setbacks in the sport, the Enstone-based team, under Renault’s ownership, is here to stay in the pinnacle of motorsport.

De Meo, in an exclusive interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, stated unequivocally, “We have no intention of selling the Alpine team or leaving Formula 1. Competition is at the core of Alpine’s strategy, and Renault is fully committed to the challenge. Our dedicated team is tirelessly working towards the success it rightfully deserves.”

Alpine’s journey in the 2025 season has been far from smooth, with aspirations of breaking into the top half of the grid falling short. Plagued by internal changes, including the abrupt resignation of team principal Oliver Oakes, the team has struggled to find its footing on the track. The unexpected exit of Oakes led to a series of organizational adjustments, with executive advisor Flavio Briatore unable to step in due to FIA regulations.

On the driver front, rookie Jack Doohan was swiftly replaced by reserve driver Franco Colapinto following a lackluster start to the season. However, the team’s performance woes persisted, with neither Doohan nor his teammate Pierre Gasly managing to score points in recent races. The Monaco Grand Prix was yet another disappointing chapter for Alpine, further cementing their challenges in the current campaign.

As the Spanish Grand Prix looms ahead, Alpine finds itself in a precarious position in the constructors’ standings, second from the bottom. Despite the setbacks and uncertainties, the team remains resolute in its commitment to overcoming adversities and striving for success in Formula 1.

Stay tuned for more updates as Alpine navigates through a turbulent season filled with twists and turns on and off the track.
