Ford has just announced that it will call back more than one million vehicles in the U.S. due to problems with the rearview camera.

In question are models manufactured between 2021 and 2024, including the Bronco, F-150, Edge, Escape, Corsair, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550, and F-600, from 2023 to 2024, as revealed by the American manufacturer in a document submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) this Wednesday.

The recall also affects the Expedition produced between 2022 and 2024, the Transit 2022-2025, the Mach-E 2021-2023, the Lincoln Nautilus, the Ranger 2024, the Mustang, and the Navigator 2022-2024.

The NHTSA has already revealed that the software problem may cause the rearview camera image to be delayed, freeze, or not be visible on the screen.

Dealers are expected to update the vehicle’s software through a remote update. The collected software serves as the operating system for the infotainment screen.

Ford also stated that owners of these models will receive letters notifying them of the safety risk, which should be sent by June 16. A second letter will be sent as soon as the solution is available, later this year.
