The windshield is one of the most important elements in a car, as it contributes up to 30% to the vehicle’s structure, helps in the roof’s resistance, and currently supports active safety systems. However, do you know which car has the largest windshield in the world?
Carglass, a company specialized in the repair and replacement of car glass, conducted a survey and has now revealed that the title of the world’s largest windshield belonged to the Tesla Model X with the panoramic “Big Sky,” which extends the windshield to the roof, with a surface area of 2.87 m2.
However, the new Cybertruck, Tesla’s pickup truck, has just dethroned the Model X as its windshield is now the largest in the world according to Carglass.
The Cybertruck uses a gigantic windshield that is 1.80 meters long and 1.75 meters wide, meaning it has a surface area of about 3m2.
Despite its enormous dimensions, Tesla has revealed that the Cybertruck’s windshield, as well as the other side windows, are quite resistant and can withstand small stones that are sometimes projected against the vehicle’s windows, without causing damage in the case of the Cybertruck.
