Strap in for the rollercoaster ride that is Ryan Preece’s NASCAR journey! The racing world was left on the edge of their seats as Preece spilled his emotions about the nail-biting deal that secured his future in the NASCAR Cup Series.

After the bombshell announcement of Stewart-Haas Racing shutting down, Preece found himself in the precarious position of potentially losing his spot on the grid. While his former teammates quickly secured new rides, Preece was left in limbo until RFK Racing swooped in to save the day with a last-minute opportunity for the 2025 season.

In a heart-wrenching revelation, Preece bared his soul about the uncertainty that has plagued his career, stating, “It’s very satisfying to be with this group (at RFK Racing). We all kind of came together very last minute. Derrick even joked about it, he said, ‘We didn’t pick the team, the team chose us.'”

Despite facing tough times at SHR with lackluster performances, RFK Racing saw Preece’s potential and offered him a fresh start. The 2025 season kicked off with highs and lows, including a spectacular crash at the Daytona 500 followed by impressive finishes at Las Vegas, Homestead-Miami, Martinsville, Kansas, and Charlotte, placing him 14th in the point standings and in contention for a playoff berth.

However, the rollercoaster of emotions didn’t stop there for Preece. In a cruel twist of fate, he was stripped of what would have been his second podium finish of the season at Talladega Superspeedway due to a rules violation. Preece’s disqualification for a technical infringement left fans and pundits stunned as his career-best second-place finish was snatched away, relegating him to 38th place in the race.

RFK Racing took responsibility for the unintentional error, acknowledging NASCAR’s decision and opting not to appeal. With eyes now set on redemption at the upcoming Nashville Superspeedway race, Preece is determined to bounce back from the setback and make his mark in the high-octane world of NASCAR.
